Preparation is the new black

Marcia face1 150x150 Preparation is the new black

Marcia Bodenstein

The start of another week – dont they go quickly? I’m sitting here and wondering how anyone gets everything done. There is so much to do, or maybe I am just high maintenance. Tomorrow is work in the office, an appointment to prepare my taxes (yikes!), exercise, food shopping, cooking to prepare for the week, manicure/pedi – and that’s just the basics. It’s hard sometimes to know what the priorities are – but the thing that is priority is the shopping and preparation of food for the next few days. If I am not prepared with the right things, I am definitely going to graze, which is then going to turn into a binge. So, I start the week by preparing a few staples so I know I’m secure.
A vegetable soup is a must (a filler), some baked potatoes (good hot or cold, white or sweet), brown rice, some roasted veggies (this week it’s brussel sprouts, beets, zucchini and eggplant)
salmon (poached and chilled).
I also cut up salad fixings so that when I come home I can dump a bag of lettuce over them (thak goodness for bagged lettuce) and I have a quick salad – cant think of cooking when I’m hungry. Does this sound hard?
Look at this week’s tweet!!

Chance favors the well-prepared. That’s what they say. So, yes, it is the “new black”. How many times do we think about someone else that they’re lucky to be in whatever position they’re in? Maybe it’s not all luck! Maybe they were ready to recognize an opportunity. I sometimes think that if I could apply this intention to every minute of my life, I’d be so smart! Lucky too….

Chance favors the well-prepared. That’s what they say. So, how lucky am I to be reading this blog? I think I took that opportunity that was presented to me, and now I can prepare myself to be as smart as possible by taking advantage of all this blogging, etc. has to offer.
